Distillation is a joint exhibition of recent works by Melbourne artist Andrew McDougall and Sydney designer John Niland. In Distillation, they seek to distill the essence of everyday objects by digital imagery and collage. In Andrew McDougall's digital images the viewer is presented with minature objects on a light box in order to challenge the duality we perceive of the artificial and natural worlds. John Niland's large format collages of advertising posters reconstruct materials to reveal hidden meanings that lurk beneath the surface.
